"Elkins Parkers get their fill of 'terrific' kosher Med and Eastern Euro fare and 'friendly' service at this 'gourmet' spot (where you can BYO as long as it’s Kashrut-compliant); while some find the decor 'cheesy', fromage and other dairy are strictly treif here, and remember it’s closed for Sabbath; N.B. open for lunch Mondays–Fridays." - Zagat Review
"With a menu that ranges fromfive-spice roasted duck to Indian-curried chicken and ice 'creams' made with coconut and almond milk, [Max & David's] is a coming-out party for the possibilities of kosher cookery." – Craig LeBan, Inquirer Food Critic
"Max & David’s in Elkins Park…offers the best of both words: A great restaurant in which to host a party and a top catering service to help you at home. Either way, you’ll walk away full and happy." – Life in Montgomery East, November 2009
"[Max & David’s] is a place where 95 percent of the food served is homemade and 100 percent is geshmak (delicious)." – Montgomery Town & Country Living, Summer 2009
"Welcoming interior, professional staff...impressive table settings and, of course, the food, [Steven] Katz’s expressed wish of creating a “great restaurant that just happens to be kosher” seems to have come true."–Inside Winter 2008

Testimonals
Restaurant: "Max and David's has great food and a varied menu that changes with the seasons. I've had the lamb, the steak and the brisket. It's all good. Wonderful lunch menu, too." -Nadine B. (review from Phillyhotlist.Cityvoter.com)
"One of the three best Kosher restaurants America, and, believe me, I have been to all too many. Turkish mini meatballs are heavenly, but everything is good. Reasonable children's menu. Worth the 45 minute drive we take to get there when we visit the Jersey area." - Mark B. from Oakland, CA (review from Yelp.com)
"Kosher cuisine redefined. This is not your Aunt Ethel's stuffed cabbage. Great food for a reasonable fare whether you keep Kosher or not. If you keep Kosher, you'll think you've gone to Heaven. If you don't keep Kosher, you'll think you've gone to Walnut Street. Worth the trip to Elkins Park." - Elliot
Catering: "Your food was a BIG HIT! The extraordinary preparation as well as the beautiful presentation contributed to a very successful 80th birthday celebration for Mom. Your delivery service and "ready to serve" with serving utensils made the meal SO EASY. We are all looking forward to more Max & David's Catering in the future." - Fran
"Max and Davids did the food for [Phillies] Jewish Heritage night and OH WOW was it yummy! To die for veggie burgers with hummas and Israeli salad, yummy bar b q brisket (I dont care for briskjet in ANY form and it was good-I tried my hubbys) and turkey sausage with pepers and onions (looked fabulous too!) plus cookies and a selection of beverages. I have already called the Phillies to tell them how increadable the food was (we went back for very tastey seconds!) and how they simply MUST contract with Max and Davids ALL of the time! I so hope they do. I wasnt realy happy with spening over $50 on ballpark food and drinks for two BUT if we could get what we got last night again, I would gladly do it!" -CHOWHOUND Review, posted by user Prettypoddle (8/13/10)
